It is the eve of our 10 year wedding anniversary! Can you believe it? We sure can’t! To celebrate this milestone we thought we would (finally) share a decade’s worth of portraits with you that most of our friends and family haven’t even seen! Unless of course you’ve been to our house and have seen the anniversary wall of photos. We never got around to sharing these on social media except for maybe an updated profile picture here and there. If you missed years one thru five, you can catch up here!
Every year since our wedding, we have had professional portraits taken together to celebrate another year of marriage — except year three and five, which we really don’t have a good excuse for. Not only are these portraits memories of who we were and what we looked like at that time in our lives, it is always great to be on the other side of the camera! To remember what it’s like to be the ones being photographed and how sometimes that can be uncomfortable and scary!
For our sixth anniversary we decided to let Oliver back in and this year he had a baby brother — Mr. Seeley Booth! These babes are our everything so we HAD to include them in at least a few shots. We started out our session once again with our friend Spencer Combs at our house and spent some time with our boys playing in the yard.
We actually got a nice photo with Aurora and Jackson, too! Man we love these kitties!!
This is one of our favorite photos from this session.
And then there’s that time that we finished our photoshoot with a water gun fight….
The year of our seventh anniversary we took an exciting trip to the west coast. We spent some time with our #ypbride and #ypgroom Michelle & Michael in Seattle, exploring the sights and shooting their engagement session before heading to San Francisco. We decided it would be fun to have our photographs taken in a completely different place! We found the amazingly talented Melissa Leith and had such a great time together!
Of course we did.
In the spirit of taking portraits on vacation, we took our next portraits in Las Vegas! Last year we attended the WPPI conference and met up with the amazing Matt and Carissa Kennedy for our anniversary portraits and updated headshots. You may recognize some of these they are showcased on our website! These two are so fun and we are so lucky to call them friends!
Again, of course we did.
Of all the photos from our session, this is the one Matt chose to share on his Instagram. Oh, Troy!
On our actually anniversary last year we did something we’ve never done before — we took our own portraits! We spent the afternoon at Nicollet Commons Park where we stopped on our wedding day to take portraits! Taking your own portraits is not quite as easy as you’d think. But we had a lot of fun together.
This is how Troy thinks girls pose.
Since travel sessions seem to be our new thing, we absolutely had to have our ten year anniversary portraits taken in the most epic location of all time — Italy. This spring we spent almost three weeks in Europe on the most amazing vacation of our lives. And we knew the perfect couple to take these portraits were Amy & Jordan Demos. These two became our family during the time we spent together and we can’t wait to see them again in just a few short months! These portraits were taken in Bolsena and Civita and they are both equally as amazing. During this session we discovered that Italians feed stray cats pasta (obviously) and that said stray cats love them some Jordan Demos.
Get ready to see the most amazing photos we have ever had taken tomorrow when we share part 2 of our Italy Anniversary portraits.
