Happy Monday, friends! You have no idea how excited we are to share this wedding with you!! Heidi and John’s Black and Gold wedding at the Machine Shop was a dream come true, not only for the bride and groom but also for us! We have been waiting for this one for so long and it’s finally here!!
The day of Heidi & John’s wedding it rained. A LOT. Like a lot, a lot. With the change of rain at one hundred percent for the entire day with no breaks, we were so thankful that we had such a beautiful industrial space to photograph in. With tons of natural light pouring in from all directions, we were able to capture everything we had hoped for (and more!) for such a special couple!
Heidi and Ashley met way back in middle school — seventh or eighth grade to be exact. They spent a lot of time together having sleepovers, talking about boys and making up their own dance moves to many, many Spice Girls songs. As they grew up, graduated high school and moved on to college they grew apart—not intentionally, but that’s just what happens in life. Reconnecting as adults has been such a blessing and we are both so excited to have Heidi and her amazing husband as part of our lives!
If you’ve been following along with us you already know that the Machine Shop is one of our all time FAVORITE wedding venues. Your might also remember hearing about the Machine Shop from our Vendor Spotlight blog series, from our Botanical Parisian styled shoot we were so blessed to be a part of last year or from general shout outs on our social media. Not only is the space beyond gorgeous, but the team that runs it is even better. This team, along with Richfield Floral & Events, Lindsay Piram Creative, Linen Effects and Event Lab transformed Machine Shop into an beautifully elegant industrial space with just the right amount of sparkle. With crystal chandeliers hanging above the aisle, soft draping and greenery lining every table, we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful turn out. There were so many special touches included in their day, with more surprises around every corner. They even had mini-golf upstairs during cocktail hour that was very appropriately Minnesota-themed with Paul Bunyan and Babe for one hole and Prince Purple Rain for the other!
It turns out that Heidi loves balloons. A lot. So much so that the flower girls actually carried balloons down the aisle instead of flowers! Girl Friday knew about this love and was tasked with adding balloons to not only the entrance space and surrounding areas, but also a fun backdrop for the photobooth! Another fun and special aspect of this wedding was that Heidi and John had no idea what their menu was until their wedding day! CRAVE catering came up with a unique custom wedding for these two and along with Farina Baking Company were able to pull off the ultimate surprise with a menu that suited both the bride and groom perfectly.
Heidi and John, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for including us in your wedding day! It was truly magical. We are so honored to have captured the image that you will one day show to your grandchildren. You are both very special to us and are so lucky to have you in our lives! We can’t wait for what the future will hold for the two of you and your growing relationship, and also what it will hold for us as friends! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. LaSalle!! We love you!!
