You may remember a few months back when we photographed Liz and Eric’s confetti popper gender reveal where they surprised their family (and themselves!) by revealing the gender of their little one. We had so much fun photographing how they discovered they were going to have a son — a moment they will get to relive for a lifetime. Do want to know what was more fun? Meeting their son and capturing his very first portraits.

Little Maddox was by far one of the most cooperative newborns we’ve photographed. As long as he was swaddled, he was a happy little guy. He slept for most of his session, not even waking when we moved him from blanket to basket and back again. He even tolerated the cute little owl hat we made him wear. Not going to lie, we may or may not have taken a few snuggle breaks. During his session Maddox gave us a few sweet smiles and our hearts just melted.

Troy is not usually a baby guy — he loves kids, but tends to not hold newborns unless they are a relative. But he held Maddox and then gushed about him for days. “He is blood” he said. Besides his actual brothers, Maddox’s dad (Eric) is Troy’s very best friend and it’s so sweet to see him love on this little guy.

Eric and Liz, thank you so much for inviting us into your home to photograph your very first son. We are honored. We can’t wait to watch him grow! It’s safe to say that if he’s anything like his daddy, we’ve got another goofball in our lives! Dad, Maddox and Uncle Troy will be quite the trio! Love you so much!
